Event photo sharing with a QR code gives every attendee their own photos without a shared folder. People scan a QR code at the venue, take one selfie, and face recognition shows each of them only the photos they are in. There is no app to install and no sign-up. The photographer's photos go online during the event, so people can save and post them while the event is still going.
It started with weddings, where a few hundred guests and several thousand photos made shared albums impossible to use. The same problem exists at any event where many people are photographed.
How it works at any event
- The photographer shoots as usual. With Snaptrace, the Camera Agent on their laptop sends each photo from the camera to the cloud as it is taken. Photos can also be uploaded from a browser afterwards.
- Faces are indexed in each photo as it arrives.
- Attendees scan the event QR code with their phone camera. The gallery opens in the browser.
- They agree to face matching and take a selfie. No name, email or phone number is asked for, and the selfie itself is not stored.
- Each person sees only their own photos, and can download them if the photographer allows it.
For the details of the face matching and what happens to the selfie, read face recognition for event photos.
What changes from one kind of event to another
| Event | What attendees want | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Wedding or reception | Every photo of their family, the same night | Thousands of photos, several days of functions. See the wedding QR code guide. |
| Conference, offsite or launch | A good photo for LinkedIn before they leave | Fast delivery on day one; keeping attendee details private. See corporate event photo sharing. |
| Graduation, convocation or college fest | Their stage moment and photos with friends | Large crowds, under-18 attendees at school events. See graduation and college event photos. |
| Marathon or race | Photos of themselves running and finishing | Many photographers on the course, faces partly hidden. See marathon photos with a selfie. |
| Birthday, anniversary or family function | Photos of their own family | Usually small: the free first event may be enough. |
Setting it up at the venue
- Put the QR code where people stop. Registration desks, table cards, the photo booth, the bar, the exit and the screen between sessions all work. People scan when they are waiting, not when they are walking.
- Make it big enough. At least 3 cm wide on a table card, and much larger on a standee or a screen. Add one line under it: "Scan, take a selfie, get your photos."
- Say it once from the stage. One announcement from the host gets more scans than any sign.
- Check the connection. The Camera Agent can upload over the photographer's own phone hotspot if the venue Wi-Fi is weak, and it picks up where it left off if the connection drops.
- Decide on downloads before the event. The photographer can let people download full-quality copies or only view them.
Snaptrace includes QR print templates, and on the Classic plan and above the studio's logo sits in the middle of the QR code.
Which plan fits your event
Snaptrace charges per event, by the number of photos, not per guest or per download. Attendees never pay.
| Plan (per event) | Photos | Price | Gallery open for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free first event | 200 | ₹0 | The event days plus 5 days |
| Essential | 2,000 | ₹449 | The event days plus 5 days |
| Classic | 5,000 | ₹999 | The event days plus 5 days |
| Premium | 10,000 | ₹1,699 | The event days plus 7 days |
| Signature | 20,000 | ₹2,999 | The event days plus 10 days |
| Legacy | 35,000 | ₹4,799 | The event days plus 14 days |
If an event runs past its photo limit, a top-up adds more photos to the same event, from ₹180 for 1,000. Photographers who shoot several events a month can take a monthly plan instead. See pricing for all of it.
When the gallery closes, the photos, the face data and the searches are deleted automatically. Tell attendees to download what they want before then.
Questions people ask
What is event photo sharing with a QR code?
It is a way to deliver event photos where attendees scan a QR code, take a selfie, and face recognition shows each person only the photos they are in. Nobody installs an app or creates an account.
Do attendees need to give their name or phone number?
No. Snaptrace does not ask attendees for a name, email address or phone number, and it does not store the selfie.
Can I use it for a small event?
Yes. The photographer's first event on Snaptrace is free for up to 200 photos, which covers many birthdays and small family functions.
How soon can attendees see their photos?
Usually within minutes of each photo being taken, when the photographer uses the Camera Agent at the venue. Speed depends on the upload connection there.
How long do the photos stay online?
For the event days plus 5 to 14 days, depending on the plan. After that the photos and face data are deleted automatically.
